My induction NuWave unit draws variable wattage. When it is first turned on it draws the maximum wattage--even if set to low. Once it reaches the set point temperature it cycles quite rapidly (too fast for a kill-a-watt meter) through various wattages.
You may find that a 1500 watt inverter might not be big enough to handle the induction cooker.
