Electrical issue

Hello !!! We recently bought a 2003 Holiday Rambler Scepter deisel MH. We had a gas Adventurer about 7 years ago and really enjoyed . We drove to a campground last night ( MH was plugged in at home just fine, everything running ). Plugged in to shore power and the power management panel is reading 50-amps ( shore is 30) and not showing the amps being used. Then it was blinking on /off. Left the MH unplugged all night going to try new extension today. Any ideas what the problem could be would be helpfull.
Thanks
Dave
  • Thanks for the help - The. 50-30 plug was bad , we bought a new one still nothing!!. Read the owners manual, there is a safety feature that shuts everything down if there is an overload or unstable power. With ours you had to start the generator , we ran it for about 1/2 hour everything was working on the generator power. When we shut off the generator it transferred to shore power and everything worked. I guess it's a way of resetting the system . Thanks for the help!,
  • No one seems to have jumped in here so I'll give it a shot.

Does you rig have a 50A service and you are using a 50/30 adapter? Usually the rig will recognise one particular leg of the 120 to indicate 50 Amps. If the two legs don't get tied together the power management system can get confused.

It is also possible that the shore power at the campground is misswired. Let's hope that a tech jumps in here soon.
