What will happen if i put a 24volt battery on a 12volt camper without rewiring?

Way back in the 50's I drove a tow truck in the frozen Michigan winters. We used 24 volts to jump start cars in extremely cold temps. I would NEVER try that on a modern vehicle with all the electronics. It would likely cause catastrophic damage. -Mark.
