electrical

Hello! Thanks in advance for the help!  I am in a vintage 1987 Mini Winnie Winnebago, Toyota chassis. My nephew basically rebuilt the house for me, doing many upgrades. My biggest issue right now is that he wasn't sure how everything should be tied together per se, electrically, and also has not been able to supply me with a complete flow chart of how he wired it. I am hoping someone can develop a detailed flow chart diagram for me to put to use in revising anything I need to.

I have 8 solar panels on the roof, 130w each; An MPPT charge controller; a 2000W pure sine inverter; a tankless propane water heater; a Velit 12v rooftop a/c unit; 4 LifePo batteries, 150ah each; a 75 amp charger/converter; a transfer/switch box; air bags on the rear. I thoink that is everything that he changed from the original equipment...  Thanks again for any assistance!

  • The “nephew” must have fixed it for her…

must be that time of year. I feel bad for the motorhomeless.

Not fixed yet, just frustrated that you folks don't seem to understand the "ask." Is anyone able to diagram for me, as if it wasn't yet set up, how it SHOULD be. I then plan to have a qualified person look my rig over and "correct" it. The issue I am having is not significant because I am able to be plugged into shore power, but plan to be boondocking extensively. I hope that clarifies it sufficiently.

You still need to have a qualified person look at because your ask is still impossible. You can find basic wiring diagrams for Rvs all over the net with solar converters, batteries etc. But it all has to be compatible. Even RVs coming off the same assembly line can be wired a little differently. You have a 38-year-old Rv with some aftermarket parts that someone has already done some wiring in it for you. Not trying to be crass, I understand your issue, but armchair responses on here aren't going to help you much with your scenario. You need someone to look at your rig, understand how it's wired now, lay out the equipment etc etc. It's not overly complicated, just that your RV is pretty unique given the age and new equipment. Even production RV's wiring is often a mystery how they did it. Google wiring diagrams for RVs with Solar, your batteries, etc. Also, do you have a generator. Not sure you'll get much run time out of an AC on batteries.

  • lol, you have the vehicle. Make a diagram of what he did.

Presume you don’t have issues because you didn’t say that.

  • Your “ask” is impossible for anyone here sitting at home in their armchair. If your nephew who did the work can’t tell you what he did, then surely we can’t tell you what he did.
