Element for suburban sw10de water heater

Some have said to buy the element from Home Depot, the one at home depot is 1500 watt opposed to the recommended 1400 watt. Also the one's at home Depot are approximate 9" and 14" long. My 5er is not here so am not sure what the correct length should be. Is the 1500 watt to much?
Thanks!

Thanks for the help! Short and 1500 watt okay.

Well I have a 1 1/2" socket which is the size of the element so I am thinking I am in good shape. Wrong...after arriving at the 5er to change the element my socket wont do the job. The element has 6 corners and requires that special tool. lesson learned.
  • Short one. Make sure you get the wrench if you don't have one.

The 1500 watt will be fine. That is what I replaced mine with.

    The long or short one?
