Eternabond Tape Quick Questions

Ok, before I read a ton of Eternabond info links, please tell me a couple of quick things so I can tell whether to even bother.

(slide out roof edge on the ends and part way along the outer edge at one end)

1. I have some 4" Eternabond tape with a removable backing on the sticky part. Will it stick together with say an inch of overlap so I can do 7" ?

2. Will it stick to painted aluminum and rubber roof where that AL is on top of the rubber roof edge--outer edge of slide, so it will seal the length of tear along the rubber roof where the aluminum length is?

3. Will it stick to the rubber roof material with old Dicor on it?

Thanks

  • you will wqnt to remove as much of the dicor as possible and clean with a decent solvent/prep first...i use acetone...others will have their opinion on this
  • Eternabond is the stickiest stuff on the planet. I know from experience it'll work for 1 and 3 and would bet a bunch it'll work for your 2nd example.
  • In my experience it will stick to anything it touches. Clean any loose flaking paint off If you want a better seal clean surface before applying.
