I've tried the gravity feed extended run with my ef2000 ... it's a PITA to get the right "head pressure" ... tank too far above the generator overfills the carb somehow (float can't "shut off" the flow) ... tank not high enough, fuel is not drawn into generator properly.
clearing air bubbles from the fuel line gets tricky, since there's no where for them to go, other than pressurizing the gen's fuel tank, since you have replaced the cap and its vent
The parts to add a pump to the Yamaha are about $30 from Amazon, and there are how-to videos on Youtube. If you really want extended run, that's your ticket.
