Fantastic Fan Circuit Board MC 103

The fantastic Fan controls has a circuit board called KIB MC 103. Does anyone know what the mc 103 does?
Still tring to find out why my fantastic fan does not work. The problem might be with the circuit board or with the 3 speed selector switch.

I am trying to figure out if the MC 103 has a way to shut down the fan motor.

thanks . . . . ken

  • "Have a fan that's 14 months old"
    "Sorry it's out of warranty"
"No not that. I'd like to BUY a replacement motor and take it with me to Nicaragua"

"That'll be fifty nine dollars ninety nine cents plus tax and twelve dollars twenty cents for shipping, ground"

    "Thank you"

Verbatim conversation the last week of may 2013.

Much cheaper to buy a new complete fan.

I have had to wait 2 days to talk to the Fantastic people. And then I got the same lady twice. She only knows what her manual tells her; she does not know how the fan really works. She does not know anything about the circuit board. I am thinking that the knowledgeable Fantastic techs are no longer working there.

If the circuit board only controls the opening/closing of the dome, then I am okay. Then the board does not have any thermal protection of the fan.

Now the most likely curlpert is the 3 way switch. It has power going to it, but not coming out of it. However, the 3 way switch has a wire to the circuit board.

    Thanks all . . . . .ken

    Rain sensor or thermostat.

Yes . I see where both go to the circuit board. But as far as I can figure out the thermostat signal only tells the dome to open. The rain sensor (once it gets wet) will shut down the dome. The dome opening or closing of the dome completes an electrical flow path that directs voltage to the motor.

But the information indicates that the fan motor is protected from thermal overload. I don't know.

    thanks ken
