It's well known that heat kills. If the Iota has a feature that shuts itself off before it burns up then that certainly is not a crappy converter.
It's******because it doesn't meet my needs. My old, supposedly POS WFCO NEVER cut out. Randy told me the Paramode's have high return rates but I bought it anyways. Heat was not it's problem. My $50 power supply works day in, day out from 63F to 110F. My CRAPPY Iota (and it's crap) does not and it's supposedly high quality. Sorry, not changing my mind on this.

What makes you think the Iota quits at 104F?
Cause it's in the spec?? And it does quit at 104 and does not restart when it gets cooler. Regardless, I shouldn't have to baby sit my converter during the summer. It works fine in the other seasons. Powermax converters operate up to 160F (or something like that). I may buy one of these but the power supply is good enough for me. The DW does say the power supply is a band aid and I should buy the appropriate converter that meets our requirements.

This is why I just cannot work up a lather of excitement over RV Perverters. Man I am spoiled, sheesh...
Well that's good to know! I will say mine works without fail for days on end in the upper 100F range.
