I doubt any flooring anywhere is made from MDF, which is medium density fiberboard, a version of cardboard. Perhaps you were thinking of OSB, which is oriented strand board, an engineered wood product. OSB is routinely used as roof decking in house construction because of its ability to withstand damage from water exposure.
