One thing I think you said the area you can't pull up is under the bed.
You can take the bed apart,, I've done that on one occasion when I had to get under it.. Not all that easy (Epically putting it back) 2 people suggested but it's just a few screws and the thing comes apart fairly easily.
Then you can easily get to the hard to reach area.
