Floor cracked

Hello I went to check my camper the other day and found the laminate floor had a crack from the front of the camper to the back. The camper is stored outside on concrete pad and not been towed. It's a 2009 jayco jay feather sport called my dealer and they said it would be a minimum of $1000. Just wondering if that floor tile with the sticky back that comes in squares would work.
  • I wouldn't think the laminate flooring goes under cabinets. They usually are floating floors with space around the outside edges to allow for expansion and contraction. If yours is laid under cabinets, etc that could be why it cracked.
  • Probably not, floors crack because of the severe cold. Sticky back self adhesive tiles will contract/shrink too. They will expand as the weather heats up but who knows if they will line up again correctly. Best thing might be a free floating sheet floor.
  • Yes most likely. Don't think that there's anything special about the flooring. But be advised that the factory installed laminate may well extend under the cabinets so you'be adding the new squares over the old floor. Not sure if some additional sub floor or barrier should be used? Or, perhaps having to cut out the original laminate to get to the original sub floor.
