Furnace blower motor RPMs modified... is faster ok?

Sorry for the delay. Ive been busy the last day and a half ripping my truck apart and putting in a new HPOP and oil lines. oye...

pnichols... I contacted the british seller. dont ship to usa. Im about done with the original motor anyway. I purchased one last season and it started squealing after one month. Barely lasted the season.

Instead of messing around with a 25+ yr old furnace, perhaps try some RV salvage yards or RV SURPLUS PARTS STORES?

Found a NT30 furnace (not sure if new or scratch and dent) for $495 RVSURPLUSPARTS

RVPARTSNATION is where I scored a Scratch and dent Atwood 30K furnace quite a few years ago for $300.

Atwood would not be a direct fit but if you can score a good price it might be worth the hassle.. Was worth it to me since the Suburban furnace I had was 25+ yrs old at the time with a bad control board and the heat exchanger was extremely rusty..

I've ordered and received stuff directly from other countries with no issues. You can order an exact replacment motor for your furnace using the eBay link I supplied above.

There is no need to mess with work-arounds.

Okay, so I believe you that there isn't a replacement motor. It would have been nice to have had that photograph in the original post. Sometimes aphoto is worth a thousand words...

There are a few salvage yards, one of them may have a used heater that would replace your dying furnace.

When I said $700 for a replacement p,us labor, I was repeating a repar shop 7 years ago. My point was sometimes there are folks out there that have contacts you and I don't have.

It looks like you will have to buy a working furnace, regardless of price.

WOW! I just looked up a NT-30 furnace in a 2016 catalog, over a grand. Steep for a inefficient heater. Mine is too, most of them are it seems.

I mentioned earlier that my motor died in Hill City, Sd, well it was a NT 30K and back then I was told the motor wasn't available but the shop in Elkhart, IN, found and installed one. I had a 1990 Bounder at that time.

Suburban furnace obsolete blower motor part no. 231166 was superceded by part no. 231266 ... which is available here and there.

ALL I can tell you is, I found someone at Suburban that was old enough to research this part. I have NEVER seen or worked on a 30K. They have all been NT 30 M and s and such. Never even knew about the 30k until this thread. Suburban stated there was no crossover motor for the 30K. It must be a very rare model and not used much. Doug

WHAT 'air damper'?

On the NT series, you have a long adjustment screw accessed from the cover by the burner plate that has the round glass hole to see the burner flame. That moves a plate with a hole in it by the orifice. That is used to adjust the rate of LP to air to get the blue flame. It should NEVER need adjusting as long as the burner is clean and the orifice is open and correct with no debris. Adjusting this plate will NOT compensate for a higher or lower RPM motor. Doug

PS, I assume you have the Cast iron burner, since your unit must be 25 to 35 years old to be a NT 30 K. If you have the SP type burner it does not have the air adjustment

If you open this link, at the end of the burner you will see what looks like a long pencil size rod. THAT is the air adjustment screw drive. It goes along the burner to that rectangular plate in front of the other end of the burner that has the holes
