fuse in the battery compartment?
One last issue with my solar install: The controller manual says the fuse needs to be no more than six inches from the battery terminal. That would locate it inside the battery box under the steps...

Blue Sea is a good choice - not only because I'm using it :). Very convenient. Note that you have to buy both "fuse block" like in the link above, and the actual fuse (that semi-transparent cube). Check Amazon.
