Generac QP 40 No power output

Stumped, maybe someone has run into a similar issue with their generator................

Gen starts runs, idols and powers down just fine

Problem: No power output when started with Motorhome power cord plugged into receptacle........................(this is the big 30 amp power cord designed for shore power)

Power output when started with no cord plugged in

Power output when started without power cord plugged in and then once running you can plug in cord and it will maintain output.

You can start gen with power cord plug in and breaker tripped, reset breaker and it will provide power.....

Thoughts?????

My, question is has it always been like that? Or has it worked deferentially?
Reason, I ask this, you should always turn off all loads/disconnect breaker before starting generator. After running (to allow warm up), then introduce loads to the unit.

    Gator,

You were absolutely correct................I am a bit red faced, but I had been starting the generator with the air conditioner on...........AND THAT DOESNT WORK!!! I have had the motorhome for 3 years and I must not have ever done that previously???

Thank you for the insight and solving my problem!!!!

No, this is a recent (within the last week) problem.

Prior to that it worked perfectly...........
