I use the rain gutter down spout set up exactly as Ivylog has pictured. It does work, even on my onan. My only difference is that I modified a couple of sliding window locks by changing out the thumb screws for small eyebolts and I clamped them to the upper rain gutter to put a bungee cord to hold the upper end in place, and my 10' pipe gets 18" over the roof height. With the gap that Ivylog shows and is also used on the Genturi the heat in the downspout will get warm but I can keep my hand right on it even after running for 30 minutes. That gap allows outside air to be mixed with the exhaust air and that helps keep the pipe cooler. You can test to make sure you have the right gap by letting go of a small piece of tissue paper near that gap and if it gets sucked in and blowes out the top then it is working right. If the tissue won't go up the pipe then the exhaust isn't either and you need to adjust the gap between the exhaust pipe and the genturi/downspout pipe.
