I'm going to say it, and I'm 100% pro-solar.
Solar is a trinket. It's cute, but for most people probably a completely unnecessary expense.
Most people RV to places where there are hookups, rendering the entire power question moot.
Most people only get to be gone 2-3 days at a time, in which case two Group 29 Walmart Deep Cycle batteries will hold you over for an entire weekend, even running the furnace at night.
If you are somewhere, like the South, where your air conditioner is going to be running continuously during daylight hours, it's hookups or generator. Solar will be of no use to you.
Yes, if you are boondocking for a week or more, then it's a different story.
