No doubt, theres a place within the various camping styles for generators and for solar. In our case the ideal mix has been to employ both, with a heavy bias towards solar - thus this brief experiential testimonial. We mostly dry camp, so ‘except’ for the occasional option of using air conditioning, we enjoy the solitude and peacefulness that non-generator remote camping offers, and have found that 440w of rooftop solar is really more than adequate (given the wide gradient of non-winter, western U.S. weather conditions and available peak harvest periods) to satisfy the two 6v GC’s, and provide clean AC power whenever needed via a 2000w PS inverter-charger.
