Going South in winters, I noticed very common culture of living out of touch... with anything. People live in old RVs, everybody has very old solar panels on the roof of his trailer or on a carport that he's built over the trailer (they don't move around much).
There is plenty of sun, hardly an hour of rain in a month, and not hot enough to run A/C. Their solar systems are very old, from the times when they were very expensive, consequently are small, and people think it's still expensive - they don't know and are not interested to know. Neither they know anything battery charging basics, be it via generator or solar. As a result, most of them are running generators every day. No A/C.
