After spending all those $$ to buy the RV and then continuing to spend all those $$ to maintain it down through the years, we want to be able to enjoy it's comforts in the largest possible variety of situations. Especially we don't want to cut a stay short in a great spot due to seasonal or daily conditions.
Here's a photo from years past of us in a spectacular area we camped in again recently longer than we had before - 6 days of drycamping this time. Great weather, great fishing, great relaxing with friends ... but too much shade for solar for 6 days.
We didn't quite need the built-in Onan for A/C during this recent early June camping, but we did a few times have to fire up the small portable generator we carry along for charging our two Group 31 AGM RV batteries:
