We have a multifuel Yamaha 2400is that can run on gasoline but has only ever run on propane.
A 2000 gen likely will not start and run your AC. Depends on watts required.
The mutlifuel is more expensive.
You will be told that it is more expensive to run on propane, probably true, but I have mine for the convienience of not having to carry gasoline.
Propane won't gum things up when the generator is sitting around unused.
