There are no kits to allow a gas or propane generator to run on diesel. The engines are completely different.
A portable gen. that runs on diesel will be hard to find, heavy, and expensive. If this was for a house or a large MH diesel would be the best choice but not for a portable.
If you want to run the AC you'll need larger than a 2 kw generator. Some people with very small AC units can make it work at low altitudes but most AC's won't start on a 2 kW unit.
For portable generators you can't beat Honda and Yamaha. My experience with Champion has not been good.
Gasoline is easier to find. Propane burns cleaner.
Take your pick on a conversion if you want.
