Green Coating on Ends of Sparker Probes Over Burner ?

Been getting this light-green coating on the probes in the fridge. The probes are sort of brass except for about an inch or so at the ends over the burner where they are lightly coated (no lumps). ...

That link does say the patina does not conduct electricity.

I don't know what the sparker probes are actually made of.

Good point about ammonia. That link says that is the quick way to get a patina formed.
