Green Coating on Ends of Sparker Probes Over Burner ?

Been getting this light-green coating on the probes in the fridge. The probes are sort of brass except for about an inch or so at the ends over the burner where they are lightly coated (no lumps). ...

When I told you to replace the igniter I didn't realize that it was a paleolithic fridge...heh. You might have a problem finding parts so I would be careful with what I did to it.

I do see that some parts are available tho and this troubleshooting manual: pdf

I'd try something like Brasso to clean it tho, less likely to do damage than a strong acid.
