You are right in that they are expensive. I know that if you search this forum for LEDs there is a lot of discussion about the quality of the expensive ones versus the cheap China eBay specials.
FWIW I was going to replace all of the lights in my old trailer with the cheap LEDs on eBay but I ended up getting rid of that trailer and picking up a new one that already had the LEDs in it. I don't imagine the job would be very difficult.
