I agree Seafoam may help but since you draw the gas from the same gas tank as your engine you will need tto treat all of the gas and that is relatively expensive. I added an inline switch to the wire that powers my generator's fuel pump so when I am ready to turn off the generator at the end of a trip I shut off the fuel pump and allow the generator to run using the remaining fuel in the carburetor bowl. There is still a small amount left in the bottom of the bowl but at least not a few ounces as would normally be. It takes about 20 seconds of cranking the generator to refill the bowl the next time I start it.
