Haert Inverter / Charger Freedom 20 D

I need a diagram or picture on how or where to connect the cables going to the batteries my motorhome got the inverter but is not connected to the batteries some body must have opened up the inverter and removed the cables . I need this info before I can do any bench testing. Phoned Xantrex they would not give any info told me to buy a new inverter as this one is obsolete. Any help would be appreciated.

  • I used to build those..........

One cable (positive) enters the inverter at the back, top. It connects to a large copper wire that is the winding of the transformer

The other cable connects to the back side of the circuit board. It's a very challenging task to connects to the circuit board and not bend or break the board, or damaged the front panel mounted circuit board connector. Someone "in the know" can do it in 5 minutes, using the right techniques.

There's various circuit board mounting feet that will break of the aren't release prior to removing them when trying to get at the back side of the board.
  • I'd call them again. Quit often if I get a bad answer or lack of service from one customer rep I'll give it a few minutes for them to get on another call and then call back again and get someone one else.

One time when I was discussing something over the phone with an IRS rep, he was being totally unhelpful. I gave it 5 minutes and then called back again. Low and behold I got the same guy! Neither of us realized it a first, but after a few minutes we did. He thought it was funny because this had never happened to him in twenty years. This time around he was a lot more helpful and I got my problem taken care of.

  • Their online manual for model 20 shows where the + and - cables enter the case. Does that help?
