Harbor Freight portable air tank pressure gauge

Does the gauge on a HF portable air tank read the pressure of the item being filled when the control is set to let air out of the tank?
I just acquired one of these and the gauge works fine when I'm filling the tank, but I want to be certain I'll be reading the pressure in the bag before I try to use it to fill my air bags. They don't take much to fill and I don't want to over fill them.

  • I don't think you'll have much luck finding a "hose/gauge" combo that will be accurate enough for your bags. Pick up a digital gauge instead. That's what I use and it seals well enough that there's very little change when checking.

Durn! I was afraid of that. Maybe I'll try replacing the hose with one that has a gauge.

  • it does, it has no idea of the pressure that will be going in the wheel
