Number 4 in Doug's reply hit the nail on the head. Most 50 to 30 amp adaptors connect both 50 amp lines to a single 30 amp line. Like Doug says, if the adaptor isn't good, then only one side is getting power. Most then likely the side that isn't powering you changer/inverter.
