Headboard fell off. Suggestions on how to re-attach?

I was making the bed on Thursday before going camping for a couple of nights. I barely touched the headboard thing and it fell clear off. It was only held on by 16 little light gauge staples. Since...

Heavy duty Velcro strips. Use several. Top, Bottom, both sides. Don't worry about middle. Get a roll of the wide stuff, 2" or so, and clean surfaces well. Press in place FIRMLY!
