Heads Up PayPal Pay After Delivery Nightmare!

  • Yes I obtained a Confirmed bank account status and it was confirmed by PayPal
  • Yes I applied for a PAY AFTER DELIVERY account and was told it automatically happens with a confirmed account
  • PayPal kept sending notices WHY DON'T YOU TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS SERVICE?
  • I did, because I have had plenty of problems with purchases not showing up in San Diego after they were paid for
  • PayPals resolution center is a bag of worms
  • I keep a minimum balance in one account in order to thwart fraud. Remember Paypals little security problems a few months ago?
  • So I utilized PayPals pay after delivery this week. The purchases were confirmed and paid for
  • Then my bank emails me and tells me I am overdrawn
  • I contact PayPal and get a runaround you cannot believe
  • Boilerplate answers on how to become a bank account linked member, no response to the question of Pay after delivery
  • Today I get a response from a senior PayPal customer service agent
  • Oh you have to look in the payment box and look for this little click-on link (has nothing to do with Pay After Delivery)
  • Then oh yes, sometimes pay after delivery does not work with some vendors
  • No Pay after delivery instructions, no links no FAQ page no nothing
  • I am merely advising to be careful
  • I cancelled my PayPal account this afternoon

  • Add another wrinkle: Chinese New Year and the whole Chinese shipping system goes down for weeks.
FWIW, I've had parts from China dribble in for weeks, all bought and shipped on the same date from the same vendor.

I NEVER give Paypal direct access to my bank account number. Everything goes on a charge card, that I can dispute if the item never shows up. I have, in the past 3 months, been having a lot of problems with small things ordered from china that just never show up. Like Customs is perhaps intercepting them and stealing them? LED 4 place voltage meter, that the vendor swore he sent it to me twice. Right now, waiting on some 60 amp gold electrical connectors. I'm thinking either a customs status problem with china by obama, or theft, somewhere along the way. Post office never tells me I have to pay duty or get something cleared by customs.

Either that, or China man is now gaming the system, taking the money, and not shipping anything at all?

Edit: Item arrived in mailbox this morning, long slow boat from China, probably a customs snafu, and Customs is being really tight with inspections lately for contraband?

Can't seem to find that thread on KT60 electrical connectors at 60 amps that Mex and SCV Jeff wrote about. Need to figure out best means of attaching/crimping/soldering copper wire to gold plate connectors. Any input?
