Help - Lost all 12V in house!

You likely have a non-working converter... On my coach from time to time one of my converters comes unplugged (it is a plug in model) (Thankfully I have 2 because I generally figure this out long about 3am).

One of my house banks is now nine years old. The other is six years old. I hope to get at least one more season from them. Keeping them charged and watered helps.

This is a common problem on the HR/Monaco line. There is a large black solenoid in the front run bay that acts up. It is controlled by the switch near the entry which you tried. Turning the batteries off and on probably allowed it to reconnect. Again, this is a very common problem. So common in fact that many people just bypass it. I bypassed mine after accidently having it shut off and leaving the fur babies inside. With the switch off the air conditioners do not work.

The front run bay is the box below the driver in the outside compartment. Open it up and look toward the bottom left for a large black solenoid. That is the pest.

I've bypassed the solenoid on two Monaco's now as soon as the situation appeared. Problem solved.

Well that sounds like the "switch" is also a circuit breaker maybe.

I suggest that you (every RV owner) needs to carry an inexpensive multimeter with them. I also have a little meter I plug into one of the 12 V outlets to keep a constant eye on the volatge.....both when charging and when not. Those are available at CW.

And lastly, as someone else touched upon.....IF the coach batteries really are 8 years old, they probably need replacement.
You are checking the electrolyte level occasionally and adding distilled water as required......right ??

Yep! Always kept charged and never allowed to get low on water.

This is interesting. I hadn't heard of this issue. I know exactly where that solenoid is.

Like I've always said, "If it can happen to an RV, it has happened to someone on this forum."

If all of power is lost start at the source then work away. Like it was mentioned, check all connections including the ground (should be white for 12volt). The ground typically goes right to the chassis from the batteries or from the fuse panel. even if the connection to the chassis looks good, take apart and make sure there is bare metal between the termination points. I would also put some deox or dielectric grease to cover the connection.
