Your hairdryer sucks a lot of power. To simplify things: to run your hairdryer you'll need to be plugged into shore power or running a generator.
The microwave and air conditioner, like your hairdryer, suck a lot of power. Same answer, to run them you need to be plugged into shore power or running a generator.
Much smaller appliances - like, a laptop or phone charger can be run off a $20-30 dollar inverter like this:

Yes - you can buy inverters that will handler bigger power sucking appliances but then hooking them up gets a bit more involved.
