I don't disagree, at least with the manual Dometic awning. But I never had to worry about it being centered when I had the Carefree of Colorado awning. Not to mention that the dealers tell people to move the strap to a different place every time you roll it up to prevent permanent deformation of the vinyl.

The material is secured by screws in track on side of rig but not on roller.
Measure from edge of awning material to roller arms...then holding on to material push the roller/arm to center material on awning (equal distance on each end)
Interesting thought. I'll have to check that on mine.
