thinking about buying a honda eu3000i generator rated 2600 watts.willit run my 13500 btu ac

It might if you get the full 3,000 starting watts, but it's close; and will get worse at higher elevations.

It runs mine. I tried it on eco but the compressor start up hits it hard so I leave eco off. It will carry lighter charging while running the AC but most if the charging has been done by my 1k solar bank. Most of the charging is done by the time we might need AC later in the day. We move with the temperature and try to stay where we need furnace rather than AC. I bolted mine into the front of the truck bed and use the remote start fob. If I turn the truck around with the hood to the pin area we sometimes forget it's running.I plan on buying a microair unit someday. Some people claim to be running 13,500 on Honda 2k with microair. They also sell a 2200 Honda

so the question is should I buy 2 honda 2200 for about the same price as a 3000i

for about the same price you could get 2 Honda 2200i's to parallel. More watts, (3600 continous) more inrush capability, lighter weight. couple that with a micro air easy start and you will find that you may only need one in eco mode to start and run the AC unless your at higher altitude, 5000+ ft.My 2200i and my coleman mach III with micro air easy start will start the AC unit while in eco mode and no overload problem to over 4500ft. the honda 2000 would only run the AC to about 4000 ft before it would overload.the honda 2200i at 4500ft would run the AC AND the fridge on AC (another 300W load)yes, the honda 3000 is nice, but the darn thing is way to heavy for me to cart around.

It will run it, make sure the eco switch is off as it doesn't like it at all when the AC kicks on. But as others have said, I too would go with the two 2000's in parallel. The 3000 is just heavy enough to need help moving it around. Loved mine, quiet and runs for like 17 hours on a tank of fuel, but big and bulky. Good Luck.

x2. and for a power comparison the 3000i is rated at 2600VA continous, a pair of 2200's is rated at 3600VA continous. Basically the same as a 30A service connection. The 3000is is rated at 2800VA continous.

I would. Combined, you get a little more power, and while there are two of them, each individual one is much easier to move around. Also, when you don't need A/C, you can just run one of them, saving a little gas, and maybe a little noise.

I have owned mine for 14 years and it does. But to make it easier on the genny I installed a "hard start kit" google it for your ac unit. That is a larger capacitor. The capacitor charges up and provides the kick to start the AC. It wasnt expensive. The twin 2000 are nice however they need to be connected together and do not have the run time, so you now need two outboard fuel tanks, or just refill them after 4 hours when full on. The 3000i runs for a solid 8 hrs so you can sleep without any issues.

My 3000 runs my 15k ac in my fifth wheel eco off. But not the ac and the micro. The genny has been flawless for 13 years.

3000i is lighter, but also not as quite as the 3000is or 2000/2000. and it's rated output is 2600W vs 2800 for the 3000is.
