- Willcamp4ExplorerI normally use two Honda EU2000i generators in parallel to run my 15K A/C, but I was using the employers Honda EU3000 last fall. Even though it is quite old (many hours)it started and ran my AC just fine, as well as my Heat Pump when I used it. It also runs my microwave easily. The only issue I can see would be if there was a problem with either the A/C or the Generator, or the microwave was on at the same time. It was also quieter while running the A/C that the two smaller gens running together.
- christopherglenExplorerif the planets align a 2k will run a 15k AC.. you loose ~3% per thousand feet of elevation. A 3k is more then 15% more powerful then a 2k. I would guess the fridge kicked on with the AC element and overloaded the generator. That or is overheated wherever you had it running.
- randy777ExplorerI shut off everything else for that first surge on startup then us electric sparingly when its on. I love my Honda. In seven years it has never let me down.
- lee_worsdellExploreri have a kipor 3000 cheap version genny and it runs my 15btu ac. need to have it on hi run all the time
- TimayExplorerMy 3000iS is running my 15.5BTU A/C even as I type. I have mine on eco mode and it starts and runs it fine, so far. I'm gonna leave it running all day just to make sure.
My son has a trip to western Colorado to Country Jam (west of Fruita 20 miles or so) and is going to need the A/C!
So, the answer is yes...
Tim - HumptyExplorerMy EU3000is starts and runs our 15K AC fine. Fridge and water heater on Gas, Ecco Mode off for the initial AC start up. I then switch to Ecco mode and the RPMs come down a little bit.
- Jerry_BExplorerMy 3300 Boliy runs my 15K A/C fine at the fraction of the Honda price. Remote start, aux fuel tank, eco mode, inverter and quiet.
- bazdadExplorerI think that the answer to my question is no. A 15k AC will not operate on the Honda EU3000is. Thanks for everyone's reply on this topic. Happy camping. We will be pulling out of Pensacola after the 4th of July and heading into the mountains for some cooler weather for maybe 6 weeks or more.
- Paul_ClancyExplorerIf I was in this situation I'd get the start cap and look into rejetting the honda 3000 for altitude. It is an awesome gen for quiet operation.

Can I run my 15k air conditioner on this generator?
Thanks for your reply.
Get the Yamaha with the Burst system =and= put a hard-start capacitor on the A/C. Will make you life a lot easier.
