Honda EU 2000 fuel shut off not working

I installed a separate engine cut off switch on my two EU2000's. One works fine as it should and runs out of gas in about 2 minutes. The other one will not run out of fuel and die. The kill switch works fine. Could there be a wire from the Honda's switch that has become disconnected or any thing else I'm not aware of. Any suggestions?

    I installed a switch so I could turn off the fuel switch and allow the engine to run until it ran the carb dry.Then hit the installed switch and kill the engine.

    First, why did you install a switch? Supposedly the big ON switch is a fuel cutoff when turned completely OFF.
