. . . Considering the market and the amount of genny's available today. Honda needs to change their pricing / policy or fade into the sunset.
You can only sell so many units based on reputation alone.
Way over priced. So are Yamaha's.
1) sound level significantly under 60 db while under FULL (100%) load
2) proven inrush performance, especially while powering a/c units
3) pricing 1/3 to 1/2 that of an equivalent Honda
. . . this could potentially spell the end of Honda's premium pricing by cutting into their core market. Once Honda's competitors become truly equal (or better) in terms of sound level and inrush performance, then it's just a matter of time before the lower pricing alone will eventually nullify Honda's reliability advantage.
Until the above happens, Honda will continue to demand and get premium pricing.
Right on. Honda Schmonda... I have a Champion too. 3 years old now and nary a hiccup. Starts first pull, rarely takes a second one, sips fuel in a miserly fashion. I expect it to run at least 10 years with minimal maintenance.
If Honda was the 'holy grail' of generators, then there would be no others. Problem is, there is. That tells me there is a good market for the others
if someone gave me a Honda, I'd take it in a heartbeat. I'd sell it in a heartbeat too.
