Thanks guys (and maybe some other gals) for picking up on the fact I am a woman...I am guessing that the fuel line on my original setup was enough bigger that the drilled hole fit it snuggly...I may have even put Teflon tape or something else around it. I will be able to test my silicon seal in a few weeks and will buy a machined cap if that doesn't work. Thanks again for all of your help.
Go for the machined cap and your problem will vanish. As it is now you have a serious fire hazard when gas starts pouring out the top when you're not looking.
