You missed the meaning of my post pnichols. It wasn't the well used spark plug that caused the problem. The generator was working perfectly until after the plug was replaced during routine maintenance. It was the brand new plug that was bad out of the box. Another brand new plug was put in and now all is working again. Just because something is brand new doesn't mean it is good.
