Well, if Honda increases the power I assume the model number will change from EU2000i to EU2200i. If Honda only reduces noise, then they'll probably only change one letter.
From a marketing perspective, consumers will be more likely to react positively to the bold number change (power increase) vs. a simple letter change (noise reduction).
Since the Honda 2000 series generators already have a stellar reputation for being quiet, making them even quieter might be somewhat moot for a lot of consumers.
With all other things being equal, IMO increasing power will probably sell more generators. However, me personally, I'd prefer an even quieter generator. Damn, 50 db darn near borders on silent!!
