I was the one talking about a generator in Q making noise. Situation was I had come back from the Yacht Club in town, live music that night, and it was almost 11 pm, dead calm, up at Plomosa, where I was camped. Road traffic was non existent at that time, and most all the RV'ers were lights out by that time, save one. Blinds were drawn, generator was indeed still running, and the flicker on the shades indicated someone was watching TV or movies still, and perhaps needed 120v to do it?
I looked at the same rig the next morning, and estimated range at 150 to 200 yards. Lots of generators running in the morning, in all directions.
I heard a lot of coyotes also the first night... lucky for them I did not get a good range estimation on them varmints.
Yeah, the desert can get quiet at night. I was remembering being in a forested camp ground. I was in a loop all by myself, but even the slightest bit of wind activity creates a constant background noise which could have help cover up my Yamaha.
