As to "pretty darn quiet", I do wish the eu2000i was quieter when running near full load.
Db numbers, while scientifically 'sound', do not always tell the full story. What I've heard with the cheaper knockoffs is a clickety-click noise that, while not louder in a db sense, carries farther than a Honda and is quite annoying. Honda's done a good job of keeping it to a gentle hum.
