My husband retired from an Electric & Gas power company and they had the portable Honda generators and Onan. The Honda is trouble free and always reliable according to my husband. Our 7 year old Honda 2000 is still going strong.
If you don't use your generator in a while you should run it at least once a month on a full load for 20 minutes.
