The $40 "BBQ" ones are cylinders, not tanks. Cylinders are relatively thin gauge steel, need regular recertification, and the horizontal variety may need to be removed from the RV to refill. A real tank is different, and basically good forever unless there's obvious damage/rust. They're bolted in place, and stay there until replaced. Cylinders and tanks are certified to different standards - cylinders are DOT, tanks are ASME. Tanks are more expensive.
Tanks are more often found on motorhomes, cylinders on trailers. Cylinders are usually sized in pounds, tanks in gallons.
I'd avoid any seller who's calling a cylinder a "tank."
