Hot Water Question - Help Please

Turn off water source, open the pressure relief valve to drain water out of top of water heater. Then disconnect hot water outlet line at fitting on WH tank.
Remove the nipple on tank and then remove the internal check valve----just gut it.
(You maybe able to remove the internals without having to remove nipple----just a plastic clip/spring/plunger)

Then reconnect everything..turn on water source, bleed air out of hot side via faucet........heat water and enjoy the hot water.

The check valve is for when you bypass water heater........if you are using WH no need for check valve. Just get a new one for when you need to bypass (better yet----install a shutoff valve in hot out and forget about the cheapo plastic junk check valve)
