How critical is it to have a perfectly level trailer?

Since the Trailer appears to have the standard LP tank mount ring, that means you have a 20 lb LP cylinder. Average weight of an empty 20 lb cylinder is 17 lbs. add 20 pounds LP and your combined weight is 37 lbs. LP weighs about 4 lbs per gallon. Your tank holds 5 gallons. Can you put a hitch on an Audi Q5?
For those who intend to maximize the utility of their Q5s, the Audi Accessories Trailer Hitch is a must-have accessory. Designed specifically for use on 2009-2017 Q5s and rated at 4,400 lbs. towing capacity, this Class 3 receiver is perfect for towing most recreational items.
That said, your hitch is 2 inches square which means it is a class 3 hitch which is what you need. A class 1 which you see on a lot of smaller vehicles has 1.24 inch square insert, which is only rated at 2k lbs towing. Bad news is this. It seems most brand name class 3 hitches for your Audi have this disclaimer. Check with YOUR hitch maker to verify. Doug

A little nose down is fine. Maybe even preferable. Certainly better than nose up.
It’s fine, especially being it’s a single axle.
It would have towed fine before but been adding a bit more weight to the tongue (just a little).
Absorption fridges are typically up to 3deg and 6 deg out of level (you can look up which is which direction so you remember it) is fine. And you’re not even close to 6deg side to side on the fridge. (Presuming it’s on a side wall)

I say that presuming your 1-2” measurement is correct and/or your pic is representative of how it sits loaded on the ball weight bearing.

Also if your Q5 is auto level (I think they are?) you may be able to adjust the ride height sensor rods to raise the back of the car a bit.
Not certain on this cause I’m not an Audi kinda feller unless maybe it’s a R8! Lol.

Thank you very much Doug for your advice on all the questions I needed!
I have the next generation Q5 (2018-2023), with a 2-inch hitch, 7-pin socket, 440 lbs max tongue weight and 4,400 lbs towing capacity. I think in my case everything is okay.

Thank you for explaining about the propane tank. In that case, I will move the battery to the rear of the trailer and may also add some cargo behind the rear axle to reduce the tongue weight. I need to get to the nearest weigh station to weigh the trailer, and then I will have an understanding of the weight distribution. But first, I need to choose a hitch to level the trailer after coupling. I'm having some problems with that at the moment :)

I returned that hitch today and ordered another one. I will try to level it more evenly. Am I correct in understanding that you're saying a slightly tilted nose is normal when towing?

Unfortunately, all Q5 models that are supplied to the North American market cannot have this option, unlike in Europe.

Use this type bubble level for refer leveling. Put it on the freezer floor. If the bubble is outside the center circle, your refer is out of level for correct operation. UNLEVEL operation IN TRANSIT, is OK as the movement negates out of level problems. BUT, people forget those time they stop for a few hours or overnight and leave the Trailer connected out of level. If that happens, you just shut the refer OFF. Then restart when traveling again. Doug
