You don't really get more amp hours out of 2 typical 6v than 2 typical 12 v batteries (very general statement)
Really??? This goes against everything I have read and was told about 2 6V batteries vs. 2 12V batteries!
The numbers are factual right? I got 232ah 6V so I will get 232 ah hours ... 2 12V group 24 batteries will only get you around 140-170ah.
Am I missing something here? This comment makes no sense to me since made a bunch of modifications and costly upgrades to move over to 6V for the purpose of getting "more" amp hours.

Seriously, you need to look at "The 12 volt side of life" and get yourself a voltmeter to see what you have in your batteries. You should be able to easily last for four days, but you might get a bit cold for lack of a furnace, and you won't be using TV or other nice things that you can have but really don't need for boondocking.
The best thing I ever did was get a meter, and check them every few hours to see what is going on, write it down, and don't let them get below 12.1 volts. You need a good meter that gives you voltage to two decimal points, so you can see when things go from 12.42 to 12.38 without just saying 12.4. You really need to chart it and learn how your batteries work for you.
I just bought a good Voltmeter (it's not to .2 decimals though looks like)(My New Voltmeter) So I will be sure to watch them form the time I get there to when I leave or at least when they get to about 21.2V.
You think maybe buying something like this would work to test voltage ... has great reviews ... CLICKY
My father in-law will have a Honda generator for next weekend trip but I will not have one for future trips if he is not there, so I was hoping to get a weekend out of 2 6 volters when I figured it wouldn't be possible with 2 12's

Maybe you will need 4 or even 6 batteries then.
I run mine down to 12.2 then recharge using the generator.
Maybe you need to get a gen. Many use the Honda 2000 because it is quiet compared to others.

I don;t have the capability of running more then 2 6v batteries on my rig at all unfortunately. and I can;t afford a $1K generator either.
Next weekends camping trip my father in law will be there so he has a Honda 2K just in case ... but for future trips it's just the batteries and then that's it. (not a guy with money to spend on stuff like that at this point in my life)
