I don't know how anyone can get along without a long set of jumper cables. Several years ago in the USA someone stole my 00 40' set of jumpers. But my 20' 4 gauge can easily pass sixty to seventy amps of alternator current. Best to start off with engine cold as the voltage will start off higher. Use a clock to time. One hour seems like forever. But it'll get the job done. Don't even bother looking at cables with 10, or 8 gauge, they are meant to start a Geo Metro 3 cylinder engine in Death Valley. Useless for doing a job like boosting a low battery. I'm pretty sure that this is your cheapest and easiest way out for very seldom usage.
