I don't know how anyone can get along without a long set of jumper cables. Several years ago in the USA someone stole my 00 40' set of jumpers. But my 20' 4 gauge can easily pass sixty to seventy amps of alternator current. Best to start off with engine cold as the voltage will start off higher. Use a clock to time. One hour seems like forever. But it'll get the job done. Don't even bother looking at cables with 10, or 8 gauge, they are meant to start a Geo Metro 3 cylinder engine in Death Valley. Useless for doing a job like boosting a low battery. I'm pretty sure that this is your cheapest and easiest way out for very seldom usage.
So just put one end on the battery in the truck and the other end on the + & - of the 2 6v batteries and start the truck and let it run for an hour and the trucks alternator will charge the truck battery and send amps to the 6v batteries and charge them as well?
Can I still have the trailer cables hooked up and everything to the batteries without causing damage to the inside TT lights etc. while the jumpers are connected?
Looking at a set of 25' 4 gauge cables with bag on amazon for about $50 right now ... if this works this would be a good back up measure or primary option if it works well and gives my 2 6volts a significant charge within an hour.
